It would be a great pity to limit holidays in Bad Aussee to the summer months. The mountains are also attractive in the spring and in the crisp, fresh winter.
The year would be incomplete without the Narcissus Festival. Autumn is perfect for hiking with plenty of sunshine. It’s always a joy to explore Bad Aussee by foot. Step by step, along the banks of the River Traun, through the Kurpark (where salt pans used to steam), or through the shop lined streets (where local variety triumphs over international uniformity).
There are few other places where crafts are as highly cherished and practised as in the Ausseerland – Salzkammergut. Live life at a more relaxed pace, enjoy a cup of coffee under a chestnut tree and glance up and see if you can spot any famous faces. Bad Aussee has many friends.
At the “Trachtenbiennale” (Traditional Dress Biennial), July 2012, Bad Aussee was officially honoured with the title "Trachtenhauptstadt" (Capital of Traditional Dress).
