The Ranftlmühle is located in Grundlsee, near the Toplitzsee and can be reached on foot from Gößl.

Idyllic hike along the path to Lake Toplitz Walking

It is named after the painter Johann Matthias Ranftl (1804 - 1854) who lived in Vienna and liked to stay here. Ranftl was a painter of the Viennese Biedermeier. His pictorial themes ranged from landscape painting, portraiture, history and religious altarpieces to genre painting, for which he is still best known today.

time from Gößl via Ranftlmühle to Toplitzsee about 35 - 40 minutes. A stop at the fishermen's hut at the Toplitzsee rounds off the hike with pleasure.

The Ranftlmühle is freely accessible from spring to autum. During winter month the hiking trail might be NOT passable due to much snow.
