The historic "Mühlberg Mühle" is romantically nestled between the trees of the "Holler-Wald" at the foot of the Loser.
As early as 1568, the "Müll am Fridrichspach" appears in the Urbaren (tax records of the manor) as part of the Mühlberg estate in Postern. Two mills once stood on its banks, which is why the stream was then renamed "Mühlbach".
Not only the mill is old, but also the knowledge about the mechanics consisting of different woods is ancient. Driven by the large water wheel, the grain is ground between the millstones into coarse semolina and fine flour.
Just like many centuries ago, the bread grain is ground here in Altaussee. In the historic wood-burning oven, the delicious bread is baked according to ancient tradition. Afterwards, the freshly baked "Mühlbergbrot" can be tasted and purchased.
