The Albert-Appelhaus, one of the most popular refuges in the Tote Gebirge.
Situated in the middle of an idyllic alpine landscape at 1.660 metres, it is a popular starting point for various alpine tours. Open from June to September, depending on the weather.

Arrival by car
from direction Vienna, Graz
via the A2 Südautobahn, the S6 to St. Michael, continue on the A9 Phyrn-Autobahn, take the Liezen exit to the Trautenfels junction - turn off to Ausseerland
from direction Vienna, Linz
via the A1 Westautobahn, take the Regau exit as far as Gmunden, continue on the B145 as far as Bad Ischl, turn off into Ausseerland/Liezen
via the Tauernautobahn A10, exit at Golling, continue on B162 in the direction of Lammertal, past Abtenau to Gosau, continue to Lake Hallstättersee on the B166, keep left in the direction of Bad Goisern, turn onto the B145 in the direction of Bad Aussee/Liezen
from direction Carinthia
via the A10 Tauernautobahn, take the Eben exit, continue on the B99 in the direction of Hüttau, past St. Martin am Tennengebirge to Rußbach and Gosau, continue to Lake Hallstättersee on the B166, keep left in the direction of Bad Goisern, turn onto the B145 in the direction of Bad Aussee/Liezen
